Light up the sky

Even after all this time,
The sun never says to the earth,
“You owe me.”
Look what happens with
A love like that.
It lights the whole sky.

Huff..Puff on Ngong hills

Saturday 2nd october got me waking up early to hike the Ng’ong hills. Lets say I’m in no way fit for this kind of physical exertion but considering it was a departmental day out,I gave it a shot.

9am was the scheduled meet up time but with Africans we were meeting as late as 1pm in Ng’ong town. Soon we grouped at the base of the hills just near the humongous KenGen wind mills (forgot to pay me power bills) and after a few chit chats,we were off to the hills.

I can say by the 1st hill, the group had broken into several cartels depending on how fit each team was. Lets say i was in the group that was enjoying the scenery and appreciating the beauty of nature. After all when do you get to breathe fresh air?? As i was going uphill,i kept asking myself so many questions as to why I agreed to this idea! I could have as well stayed at the local bar and enjoy my drink. The heat wasn’t helping much either and this made me tired. We sojourned on with my team till the steepest and toughest hill of them all and this one i had to climb it in piece meals lest i exert all my energy halfway. I finally made it to the top much to the excitement of ma colleagues who couldn’t stop laughing as to how i took “long” to complete the final hill (15minutes isn’t long).
There was a beautiful scenery of the Magadi county and Nairobi county on either sides of the hills. Its a must see for out door type of people. Some photos below that i managed to get in between the climb.

If it was the day

Today may be The Day
The Clouds are ripped away
And every pilgrim that’s run the Race,
Walked the Narrow, seeked Christ’s face
Will rise in the glowing crimson sky
And to their Country will they fly.

Today may be The Day
That all of sin and earth’s decay
Will eternally be no more,
Away from the saints will they be tore
No more death or wickedness,
Only Life and righteousness.

Today may be The Day
In the dewy grass I lay
To be warmed by the Gleam
Of Jesus, the Kingdom’s Light and Beam.
There will be no darkness nor no night,
No longer walking by faith, but now by sight.

Today may be The Day
In the golden streets we play
Dressed in glistening pearl-white gowns,
Dancing with joy to trumpet sounds,
With welling hearts, on bended knee,
“Thou First and Last, we forever praise Thee!”

Today may be The Day
When every soul in debt shall pay.
There will be no defence and no excuse,
You saw the Cross, but chose your noose,
Heart rebelled, kept turned from God,
Loved flesh’s ways, walked sin’s sod.

Today may be The Day
Bride and Groom in fine array
Will feast on love and intimacy
For Love has been our only plea.
The reason our souls the Lord did build,
“True Love Ever After” now fulfilled.

Hyena and Jackal

Long ago, Jackal and Hyena were great friends. Once, they met to ascertain who ate better food. Hyena brought rumpled, dry skins that Jackal could not eat. Jackal said, “let’s go. I’ll show you what I eat. No wonder you’re so thin. You eat skins!”

Jackal took Hyena to a tree with a beehive in it. Jackal climbed up, lowered the beehive, and, after descending, told Hyena, “If a bee stings you, don’t yell, ‘uuuiil!’ Somebody might chase us away.”

Hyena tasted the sweet honey and began gorging himself. Soon stung, he yelped, “Uuuiii!”

“Shut up!” Jackal admonished. But promptly, Hyena forgot, started gobbling honey, and got stung again. “Uuuiii!”

Irked, Jackal decided they must leave to avoid being caught. Being thirsty, they went to a well. Before drinking, Hyena asked, “How can one keep this sweet taste in one’s body always?”

“You ask someone to plug your asshole with wood.”

Hyena wanted that, so Jackal did it.

After drinking, Hyena could not stand, he was so full. He just lay by the well. Jackal left.

Early next morning, a woman with a gourd came to fetch water where Hyena lay. “Ah! The Ndune clan’s he-goat!”

She untied and discarded her gourd. Using the rope, she tied Hyena up and carried him home. There, she sent her child to bring her husband to slaughter this goat. Meanwhile, she tied one end of the rope to her leg and the other to Hyena’s neck. Before her husband came, her other children crowded around examining Hyena closely.

Seeing wood in Hyena’s anus, a child asked, “Why is this wood here, mama?”

“Just leave my goat alone.” But one child furtively edged the wood out.

A blast of diarrhea knocked it down. Relieved, Hyena ran out of the house, yanking the woman along. Thinking their mother was chasing the he-goat, the children cheered, “Mama ru-u-u-un! You’re faster! Mama ru-u-u-un! You’re faster!” But she fell and, dragged along knocking against stones, trees, grit, trash,… was ripped to shreds because of her stupidity.

windows 7

With all the less pleasant verdicts about Vista, Windows 7 is perhaps PC user next best news. Codenamed Blackcomb, this new Microsoft operating system is surely a successor over it’s predecessor Windows XP and definitely Vista. With Microsoft to end their support for Windows XP in 2014, we figured Windows 7 will be completely taking over things in the next year or so.

If you are a Windows users it’s probably time for a change, or at least tryout this new operating system.

I will be posting the link to the RTM release once it comes out. Meanwhile you can check out the Windows 7 website for updates and the windows 7 team blog for first hand news of this amazing OS.
