So i went shopping yesterday at Tusker Mattress(Tusky’s) at Pioneer House along the ever busy Moi Avenue. I did ma shopping for the various items that i need for the house and i paid for them at the counter but when it came to leaving the supermarket through the available exit drama started to unfold.There are some detector systems that they have placed at the exit that check if you have shoplifted.So there i was about to leave when the bloody alarm went off and in a second i was nabbed by two heavy built security guards who whisked me to their security desk near the exit.I was told to decipher the contents of my pockets to which i obliged gleefully.The contents included an assortment of receipts,coins,some business cards,ma wallet and keys.I was again frog marched through the detector and the bloody thing went off again this time prompting for a body search via the frisking method.The situation had started to attract alot of human traffic which was giving me a bad PR.Again after the frisking I was forced to go through the detector and for heaven’s sake the bloody thing went off for the third time went off which made the security guys now to start thinking otherwise about stripping me down.They proded my shoes,stripped searched my socks and when they were satisfied that nothing of was hidden there,they told me to go through the detector again which by now was becoming irritating went off again sending the whole supermarket into a shrill of laughter.How does the detector go off 4 times even after the rigourous strip searching from the two guard.They had to give up on the search since they were now convinced that I had nothing on me.So they gave me ma shopping and gladly escorted me out and for the fifth time the thing went off making me wonder aloud what the hell was going on. The incident has left me pondering and embarrased because I had paid for everything at the till and yet it continued to go off even after a serious strip searching.Next time you go shopping at any Tusky’s make sure you’ve paid for everything or else you encounter a similar scenario.
