On a chilly 15th April morning,I was picking up a bulky item in the CBD. Well it’s not the type of bulky things like shopping that we do in our “cheap” supermarkets or gunia ya mahindi from upcountry. It was my first automobile! Yep.I decided i’m no longer queueing for matatus at the Kimathi stage,I’m no longer getting dropped at the infamous muthurwa
,getting to pay over inflated fares thanks to route 23 matatus(Town-Outering) and ofcourse it was about time i stopped enriching my taxi guy with cash especially after late nights in the office.

Well lets say Rita never took off on a good foot. A few bump n grind with the office and home gate that sent me to repaint her and ofcourse the unforseen long friendship with the mech who seems to have a base figure of ksh.1500 for anything he does on her. So here I am,proud owner of a Toyota Starlet, fuel efficient, light weight,4 doors,cd changer, alloy rims coming up this end month and custom seats and dash board.

Here she is…..

never mind the missing wheel cap…it got lost along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway along the Athi-River Diversion on my way back from Makueni….. The green RVR…mmmmhhh….

At work

here she’s outside our upcountry home..I like her perfomance on hills n valleys…handles them like a non-sense

Upcountry

getting cleaned up….

Getting clean

Now this weekend the highway wasn’t looking all that rosy…

from afar…..

things started looking un-rosy

Highway

and things got thick here….

AGONY IS

Coming to work on a cold n wet Monday to find this on the kitchen door…

…considering the kitchen in my house is considered an adjacent room to the living room coz of the infrequent visits there.
