Huff..Puff on Ngong hills

Saturday 2nd october got me waking up early to hike the Ng’ong hills. Lets say I’m in no way fit for this kind of physical exertion but considering it was a departmental day out,I gave it a shot.

9am was the scheduled meet up time but with Africans we were meeting as late as 1pm in Ng’ong town. Soon we grouped at the base of the hills just near the humongous KenGen wind mills (forgot to pay me power bills) and after a few chit chats,we were off to the hills.

I can say by the 1st hill, the group had broken into several cartels depending on how fit each team was. Lets say i was in the group that was enjoying the scenery and appreciating the beauty of nature. After all when do you get to breathe fresh air?? As i was going uphill,i kept asking myself so many questions as to why I agreed to this idea! I could have as well stayed at the local bar and enjoy my drink. The heat wasn’t helping much either and this made me tired. We sojourned on with my team till the steepest and toughest hill of them all and this one i had to climb it in piece meals lest i exert all my energy halfway. I finally made it to the top much to the excitement of ma colleagues who couldn’t stop laughing as to how i took “long” to complete the final hill (15minutes isn’t long).
There was a beautiful scenery of the Magadi county and Nairobi county on either sides of the hills. Its a must see for out door type of people. Some photos below that i managed to get in between the climb.
